Does anyone know where I can find the kit that repairs the bushes in the get lever selector. There is a slotted plastic guide in the base of the gear lever which has worn away meaning that the lever become sloppy. None of the Mazda dealers can help without a chassis number (!!!) and I can't find a UK dealer that stocks or knows anything about the kit. Its a three hole boot, I can find 4 hole kits online but not sure what's going to fit.

Any help greatly appreciated

Dave

For reference, when the right kit is identified, can you specify if you have the forward mounted or more rear mounted (early) gear selector?

Not sure which part you mean exactly but try looking at 039817462A as that is the nylon bush at the base of the lever.

Yes it is, but try and find it online.
State side there is a supplier who does the complete kit for $300.
I've tried to source the parts here with all the part numbers,
but with no luck.
I'm at work at the moment but I will post the web address later.

Following
on from this, I have just had an email reply from Mazda systems UK.

Hi,

We don't keep those parts in stock, but we can get them from Mazda on special order. Special order parts usually take 7-10 days to arrive from Mazda as long as they have the parts in stock.

M503-17-45 is not a valid part number. There is a digit missing

M505-17482 is our part number SP1161, the price is £3.20 including VAT.

R503-17-492 is our part number SP2182 and the price is £7.55 including VAT

8599-17-482 is our part number SP2389 and the price is £5.32 including VAT

M501-17-515 is our part number SP1911 and the price is £8.96 including VAT

0303-17-474 is our part number SP1160 and the price is £2.26 including VAT

0391-17-462a is another invalid part number, it is not on the Mazda UK system.

If you would like to order the parts, please call us on 02392 644588 and ask for our part numbers above. Once you place the order with us, we will order the parts from Mazda and post them out to you as soon as they arrive here.
These numbers were posted by one of our Stateside pilots. If you read this could repost with the part description.

As you can see, two of these items are not complete number wise.
If anyone can supply the missing info, that would be much appreciated.
One of these may be the threaded gear lever.

Contact at Mazda systems is Mark.

A google search for 039817462A throws up loads of results, eg:

Don’t know if I have same problem. With my wife’s car it’s sometimes impossible to get it in reverse. Other moments it goes normal.
When it doesn’t want to go in reverse it still will go in forward gears. The gearbox is with forward shift knob.
Does anyone know what the solution can be ?
