A good place to visit for Traction Engine fans is the Strumpshaw Museum near Norwich. For many years I used to look after and run the Garrett works engine there and have many happy memories of playing with it. I occasionally appear on the tele when one of the late Fred Dibnah programmes is re run as I spent the day with him filming.
I used to have a quarter scale coal fired miniature of Freds famous Aveling & Porter steam tractor which I sold last year to a well know west country Morgan agent.
As for steam ploughing, both driving the engines and the ploughs are a real laugh but I don't think I would have the strength to do it know.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

Haven't been over to that side of the country for a few decades. I'll have to organise a visit soon...
