I think there was a fair backlog of approvals for the new Euro 6D-Temp which came into force for all new registrations from 1 September 2019. The main reason would be the need to comply with the new testing procedure that came in to force following "diesel gate", Small manufacturers would have found themselves at the end of the queue, particularly as they would not have their own testing facilities.

Yes, I think you are spot on I’ve heard the same, that there is a massive backlog which is causing delays in being able to register new models

It appears that some English dealers are getting mixed up between USA Australia and New Zealand, the compliance regime differs hugely, current 4/4 plus 4 roadster and the CX generation cars are all compliant in New Zealand at present. There are a couple of four cylinder cars on there way and three plus 6 almost here, perhaps someone in sales at MMC is getting confused..... This has cost one excellent dealer a couple of sales. Both the BMW and Supra are well known here so servicing is not such a worry.
