Took the +8 to the Dresden Morgan Club Deutschland Autumn meeting a couple of weeks ago. It was very wet on the drive from France into Germany. Saw the remains of a number of Autobahn accidents all caused by driving far too fast on flooded roads. I am all for driving fast but staggered that in torrential rain and flooded roads the Germans were still driving at 130 MPH/200 KMH + .

I lived in Bavaria when ABS came out. Car insurance costs went up steeply. Why? because people thought they then could stop instantly even on ice. Coming back from Salzburg on a 2 lane autobahn I saw the cars in front slowing fast. The car behind wasn't. I moved into a gap on the inside and he tailgated the car in front at about 60 km/h.
