I had a company called BBR put a supercharger in my 2.0 Duratec engined Mk3.5 MX5 in 2012 and did 45k miles over the next 6 years with no problems. The output went to c250HP and made for a very lively drive. Still pleased to have moved to my Plus4 GDI though.....

AlyMatt, what brand or make was the supercharger? Was it a belt driven Rotrex?

No super charger but I had a Roger King built 1700cc cross flow in a Caterham, reading this post reminded me how much I loved that engine and that car!
Couldn’t get my head round how an engine that looked so agricultural had so much power and revved so high.

Obie and everyone

Many thanks for the input. Just for info my engine is a Crossflow uprated to 1700, with a fast road cam - carried out by Vulcan Enginnering and twin 40s. With my drop down screen and the noise from the 40s its great just the way it is. But if you get the chance to watch Robbie Coltrane programme on the Supercharger, which is available on YouTube, go for it. It's great watching with a mug of tea and some biscuits!

Heinz

From what I remember it was an Eaton MP62 Supercharger. Had an additional radiator fitted for cooling also.
