When I brought my plus 8 in 2012, I was very concerned about placing a large deposite with the dealer and got it underwitten by MMC.

Hello Eddie,
Not quite sure what has prompted you to try and investigate the background of Revolutions, our Morgan dealership.
Seeing as you have, you have obviously caused concern with some of our customers who have seen your posts.
Suffice to say, Revolutions is open for business as normal and those that fund us will wish to remain anonymous to all, other than ourselves and the directors of The Morgan Motor Company. How any company is structured behind the scenes should have little relevance to the general public.
The future of Morgan in Scotland under Revolutions is particularly well secured and in the interests of our customer confidence we would very much appreciate that this thread be removed.
Wow. That's quite something, using your first post to ask for a thread to be taken down. Which of the Forum rules you think Eddie has broken ? I agree with OZ, I don't think Eddie is asking anything unreasonable. If the original question didn't provoke some issues the answer certainly did......

It just touched a raw nerve I guess, the whole of the car industry is struggling at the moment globally let alone trying to sell £90k cars in Scotland.

I was asked for significant deposit (more than half the total cost) when I purchased my new 4/4 in 2011. The Morgan dealer contract also demanded I make full payment well in advance of collection - I had no choice. Fortunately, that contract was via a large European car sales entity with a clean history so I took the chance. It is reasonable to know what is behind ELLIOT RUSSELL LONGMUIR PATERSON and his 100, one pound shares

If you pay any part of the deposit by credit card the credit card company then becomes liable under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act to refund you should the dealer not be able to provide the goods for any reason.

It's capped at £30k, so very little use on any new Mog

It's capped at £30k, so very little use on any new Mog Perhaps I've misunderstood - the email I had this afternoon from MMC tells me that the deposit on a new Plus Six is £12,500 so the £30K protection is more than adequate surely?

Ian IIRC, it covers total purchase between £1 to £30k, so if the total contract between buyer & seller exceeds that, then none is protected - these things are usually written with wriggle room for the financial institutions Some reputable Dealers will put your deposit money in a sub account, so that if they go pop & the receiver piles in & puts 'we now own this' stickers on everything you have a chance of getting it back
