Hello all. I am the new owner of an 04 Plus 8 and I'm looking for info about electrics. Everything works, but I'd like to be prepared. I've done a man-search and am surprised to find not a lot. My fuses do not seem to agree with the charts I found and GoMog led me to here http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/+8WiringDiagrams1998on.html but then the links went nowhere. Does anyone have, or can point me to, wiring diagrams; fuse charts locaions; relay locations. Anything really. Thanks in advance.

Hello JMcL. I have a 2002 Rover V8 with Gems engine management. The links you have in gomog work ok for me. Try gomog again. One thing to note, however, is that the diagrams may be different to what is actually on your car. Wire colour codes might differ, etc.. The fuse box is another victim of Morgan variability too! Do you have the small laminated fusebox chart? I have print outs of the diagrams ( may be saved as pdf files on the computer too) and could pass them on if you cannot get them via the gomog site. Working on the Morgan electrics is fun......

Good evening sospan, Thanks for that. I had not noticed that the gomog info is downloads and not links. All good now. My car has lost its fusebox chart and the one I found on gomog seems to be different. Looks like the first job is to make a new one and check the car / diagram compatibility. Thanks again.

You might find reading the fuse chart with a mirror gives you the correct locations

One way to avoid tracing which fuse goes with what - try LED fuses (I don't know how they work but they light up when blown). Have a look at https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/854/category/157 or try eBay. A member local to me has done this on his 2002. I also had difficulty recently with our 2004 Roadster trying to track down which fuse protects which item so will replace ours over time. As an alternative to needle nose pliers to take out and replace the fuses under the dash get one of these little gadgets https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/blade-fuse-extraction-tool.html. I've got some spare so you are welcome to a couple for a quid each plus postage if you PM me. Good luck

Thanks all. This community is great and makes a huge change from my first Morgan experience, (4/4 Series 1 in 1959). Graham, a mirrior has been useful and Roady, it was drawing up my 12 V Planet order for LED fuses that got me into this. I have some fuse extractors, thanks. Next thing is to find and identify the relays. All good fun and to think I was on the way to buy a Lotus Elan when we got distracted by a Morgan dealer.

And it is very small so easy to store in the car. AND: You only need one hand to test the fuses and the fuses can be left on their place for testing.

I have blade fuses with testing “holes” in the top. I can use the multimeter probes to test them without removal. The only downside is getting under there!
