Better to ask questions before attempting such work, particularly if not self assured in spanner wielding. smile

As for me, I've had enough of lying on cold concrete unless it's a quick job like greasing front suspension, so I leave brake bleeding to Mark Middleton when the car is in for MoT / checkover. smile
(We need a spanner smiley!! smile ).

I know exactly what you mean, Graham. The scissor lift has been the best thing I ever bought, I use it for absolutely everything. Makes working on the car a delight rather than a chore.

Morning all - thanks for all your replies - Uber useful (and, equally importantly, entertaining!).
I’m, proud to Say I bled the brakes - successfully! OK, not the front because I couldn’t find my 11mm spanner! But they were ok in any case.
Clutch working because I filled the reservoir and that did the trick. However, as the savvy lot you are, you will realise that that is fixing the symptom, not the underlying problem... which is the slave cylinder. So that is my next project: how to replace the slave cylinder. I could literally drive it down the road (Bell & Colvill in Surrey) if all fails (well, not if ALL fails!) which means I can give it a go first myself ... which I intend to do! So if anyone has any pointers...
And a happy new year to all
Lawse
