Yes those are awful, the small bullet ones where better looking, specially in contrasting black like the mud guards. Probably useless though!

Mirrors? I thought it was air brakes...well, why not try the bullet ones with slíghtly longer arms (and maybe mount them slightly closer to the ground). Must be possible to design something that fits (praying!).

What is "the finned box" in front of the engine (just above the "N" on the reg. plate)? A horn?

Could the flashing LED on the dashboard be a immobilizer (or maybe alarm...)?

I have heard about a cockpit cover and a luggage rack but no confirmed info/photos seems to have leaked into this marvellous forum?

I think so; Lance mentioned it above in post #60735, and I commented it as well, in post #60740.

But on the other hand, perhaps I shouldn't have; these are development vehicles, and even when finished there are so many different things that can be changed by the owner, that most things shouldn't matter, such as for example the exhaust. And whatever steering wheel they have fitted during the years, it hasn't stopped people from changing to something else, if they fancied that.

As for rear view mirrors and "not in character with the 3W"; I seem to remember how Jay Leno commented on this and his old three wheeler; he buys his from a 99 cent store.

I have yet to find someone driving around in a Morgan that hasn't been modified slightly, in some way, from the pure basic model. So I guess all will change 'em to suit their taste.

That's for sure, and you are right, this is not yet a production vehicle, so things might still change. I sat in the LHD car in Geneva and I was given a brochure with computer renderings of the 3 wheeler, so I think those that have one on order are just hoping it will be as great as the expectations, as for now they are just that!

Production is still slated to begin June '11?

Is customizing available via the factory in addition to 'official' options? How would one even know what might be done? Would hate to miss an opportunity.

The reason for the change is fairly simple. The parts are all Aluminium and were attached with welded braces, but the vibration was causing the welds to fail. It's my understanding that the fix seen on the car is short term to allow MMC to run the car, and while this is happening they will work on a fix, I think this will just involve a change in the fixing method or material.

Checked out the mirrors again... the mounting point and graceful arm seem proper enough. The only real complaint would be the overall mirror shape – seems too squarish, making it look contemporary. It should be round to repeat the shape of the headlights and other round style elements. Neither was I a fan of the former black mirror, however – its thickness and conical proportions seemed wrong.
