"Now that's a wrench" ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/12/16/IMG_0143.jpg) Having loosened the rear spindle nut for a tire change with barely large enough and none too long adjustable wrenches (which I really dislike using for any purpose), I decided to buy a pair of proper wrenches sized 24mm and 36mm. As you can see, the 36mm is impressive, and should help immensely in getting the spindle nut Fully Tight (FT-ahem). Not too expensive either, as they were about $55 for the pair on Amazon. And the brand, which was new to me, had decent ratings. Going to have to improvise a bigger tool roll for travel.....

I believe a proper "tool roll" for a Morgan would be s trailer that rolls.

Actually, it's a spanner. Oh, for goodness sake! Those two blokes live in the US where it's a WRENCH.

Actually, it's a spanner. Oh, for goodness sake! Those two blokes live in the US where it's a WRENCH. Which raises the question in my mind - if Americans call spanners wrenches, what do they call wrenches?

I'm not having a go here, I'm genuinely interested. In English English, the term Spanner is used for a tool which is used on fasteners (ie nuts and bolts), whereas the term Wrench is used for a tool which is used on pipe fittings and the like. Is there no distinction made between these two tool types in American English?
