Not to be confused with the hand operated, long pressed steel two eared spinner tool they also offer although it does require a little filing to suit Morgan spinners.

Sorry about the confussion.

My Mog hasn't eared spinners. In cause of the strange regulations in Germany only eight flange nuts are fitted.

I think some of the good tools doesn't work (at my car).

I pour hot water on the nuts and they come of easily. I keep a tin bucket in the car so that I can drain hot water from the radiator at the roadside. I jack up the front of the car the do this. Sometimes I have to whack the radiator drain tap with the copper hammer, but it saves damaging the wheel nuts. I have to carry a gallon of water to refill the radiator, together with a pint of anti-freeze. It pays to be prepared.

Err, but that's exactly what they were designed for. Spinners came about so that you could quickly tighten or loosen wheel nuts with a hammer. This idea that they should be kept pristine is what's wrong, not the notion that they should be used as intended. smile

I'm with you Tim,

After all they are called Knock On Wheels. Or at least Knock On Spinners.

It does. But the anti-freeze acts like Wintergreen.

Happy Xmas Paul & Jan

Hot water from the radiator. I keep this idea for unhappy moments.

But I think this isn't my favorite. One thing: the cooling system works with a little pressure on it, than open the (expensive) radiator with a hammer to take care for a (not so expensive or in relation cheap) wheelnut?

Than refill the hot system with cool water...

I wasn't good in physic at school, but I think my teacher wouldn't be happy with this way.

After all the good ideas I take the factory (cheap tin pressed) spanner and weld a tube on it for the heavy moments
of strong tighened nuts.

Not really a problem. You have to change the radiator every 5 years anyway.
