I sent something similar to my American friend which was so well received he had it printed on his Christmas cards to send to all his friends. It turns out that they can laugh at themselves just like us !!

They have a great sense of humour Reg, well you have to if you have a "special" relationship with a little island faraway where people sing "Rule Brittania" and "Land of Hope and Glory" - I can't be the only one here that finds that absolutely ridiculous in this day and age and I'm pretty patriotic but the lyrics I find embarrassing.

Do the jobs I have planned but put off. These are future proofing jobs or those prudent to do due to the car’s age.
Use the car more than the last 2 years ( obstacles cropped up that limited time).

In Italy today, Epifani, is the day that good children receive a sock full of sweets, dried fruits, and small toys. This bounty is brought by the Befana, and old woman similar to a witch in that she rides a broomstick. Due to a confusion with witches she is often shown wearing a pointy hat but more correctly she should be shown with a head scarf.



I hope you have all been good and the Befana brought you some sweets, otherwise, if you have been bad you would have found carbon, ashes, or garlic in your sock.
