Happy New Year!

It’s time to finalise the plans for the Albert Ball run in May, in particular who’s coming along.

I have all 12 rooms held at the Withaus hotel in Diksmuide for Fri 1st and Sat 2nd May and need to confirm names by the end of Jan. There’s no need to book separately, just let me know. If we need more accommodation then the Pax hotel can take the “overflow”. Payment will be direct to the hotel on departure.

A change this year will be to lay the wreath at Capt Ball’s grave rather than the crash site memorial.

So, for those coming along for all or part of the trip please could you confirm:

Name(s)
Hotel required y/n
Dinner Fri night y/n
Dinner Sat night y/n
Lunch Sun y/n

Chris99, Hotel - y, Fri – y, Sat –y, Sun – y

Itinerary

All times local and based on travelling by Eurotunnel - alternative ferries are available!
Road times are non-motorway.

Thur 30th April:

Premier Inn, Eureka Park, Ashford. – you’ll need to book this direct.

Fri 1st May

Eurotunnel 09:50 to Calais, eta 11:25

Lunch en-route to Diksmuide, staying at the Withuis hotel http://www.withuisdiksmuide.be/

19:00 Dinner - tba

Sat 2nd May

Day free to plan whatever you want, possibly based around a visit to Ypres?

19:00 Dinner tba

Sun 3rd May

09:30 depart Diksmuide for Bondues with arrival about 10:30.

10:30 – 12:00 Bondues carshow at Aérodrome de Lille,
Marcq-en-Barœul, Avenue du Général de Gaulle, 59910 Bondues

11:45 depart Bondues for Albert Ball’s grave at the German military cemetery, Annœullin.

12:30 Laying of a wreath and commemoration by Mark Henry

13:00 head off for the restaurant Le Maisnil Mon Temps for lunch at 13:30
http://www.restaurant-lemaisnilmontemps.fr/

Depart apres lunch for the 18:20 Eurotunnel, eta Folkstone 17:55

We would need to leave the restaurant by 15:45 to take the back roads or about 16:30 using the motorway (non toll).

As usual this is a free event, however if you would like to make a donation then please consider the British Legion www.britishlegion.org.uk

Many thanks, Red Leader.
Shaun and Libby for all.
Paul, will you be staying at the Premier Inn on the Sunday night and, if so, which one as, if you are, we will join you?
