Loved the Anoushka track.... Saw her Dad play live sometime late 60s early 70s (can't be more precise than that... You know the saying about remembering the 60s).... Ravi Shankar had some talented daughters... Norah Jones as well.

Image I think maybe you will like the Tribute to George written by Ravi and performed by his orchestra featuring Anoushka, unfortunately the video has been removed from youtube. Lucky man seeing Ravi live, whenever it was

Different intervals, phrasing, structure and sheer requirement for attention span from most modern Western music... But then it is 'Art' music akin to western Classical.... Has its own flavour even when 'sampling' western baroque and guitar riffs not miles away from Richard Thompson's on who knows where the time goes..... For me, best not try to analyse and organise... Just let it wash into your ears. :-)
Agreed too much analysis is not good for the pure listening experience but the way Clapton adapts to this big shift in timing on acoustic guitar is truly masterful.

Pure listening... Eric C is amazing. So is a lot of other stuff. I've just finished a HiFi upgrade, almost approaching perfection. OK, I know it can never be reached. I've also discovered streaming. Using Tidal and TuneIn. Spoilt for choice. I could spend hours listening.
Then SWMBO asks if there is a way I can listen to my stuff using headphones so she can watch TV. OK, I say, and go and talk to my Guru, otherwise known as the HiFi dealer who takes my money. A bit like a Morgan dealer, he has my best intentions at heart. And his bank balance.
It seems I need a small box to attach to my pre-amp so I can plug in headphones. £670 including cables. Thanks.
Then I need closed back headphones. Really? I have a pair of Sennheiser HD25s. Good in their day, still respected. They go for about £100 a pair. BUT to get to the level of the rest of the system I need Sennheiser HD 820s. A cook £2k.
Really?
Buying HiFi is like buying cars..... nirvana is unachievable, but always tempting.

Crikey steady on there Peter otherwise you will be needing to head on back to consultancy land and you don't want that.

Indeed, it would break a New Years Resolution! So the "poverty spec" HD25s will have to do.
