Answer to Image: correct, color ivory, beautiful engine noise however difficult to tune, according to the owner putting his car there to improve high rev ability...

Nice weather today, and would have been nice to drive a bit more, but other things to do. So, just 10 miles for a bit of shopping today!

A nice short film. The speed looked pretty sensible to me, I have to say, especially considering the narrow roads and lack of good vision in some places.

When working on films from my dash cam I usually crop the image to remove the "incriminating" evidence before publishing them on YouTube.

Toucan

It does have an Italian look but it was designed in-house at Daimler..... That engine is a cracking motor, 2.5L V8 and 140 hp..... Apparently it can easily be tuned to give pretty decent power... It was designed by Edward Turner who was chief designer for Triumph motorcycles and responsible for the speed-twin and Bonneville engines.... The V8 was his last great design. I know that engine choice is decided by lots of issues such as long term availability etc (and that engine was on a corporate slippery slope due to it clashing with the straight six when Jaguar took over) but I always thought a warmed up version of that motor might have been a fine choice when Morgan was planning the +8...... Only real downside was an extra 30kg due to the iron block, but I'm sure that wouldn't have been an insurmountable problem.

When you see one that's been kept in good condition they're a very pretty car.

Given the advent of motorways in the UK the police dabbled with performance sports cars in the early 60's as high speed pursuit vehicles including the Daimler SP250 (Dart)

and the Sunbeam Tiger but with the Mustang derived small block 289 (4.7 litre) option rather than the cooking 260 I believe.

Work colleagues had examples of both of those during my early career days in the '70's. Happy times!

As a kid living in North London the local police had a couple of Darts... They used them to chase E-types and Ton-up Boys on the North Circular Road....left me with a lifelong liking for SP250s.... Sadly never got to own one... Next life maybe

Buy Brtitish & Mrs Buy British also risked coming in their series 1 car. Whilst I enjoyed heated seats & a heater they are of sterner stuff having no heating at all.[

Nice drive along the B and C roads of North Bedfordshire to take my ukulele to the luthier. Cold and damp with a few spots of rain but the sun did poke its head out at one point! Sixty two miles in all.
