Hi everyone,
I was having a little fun and the consequence is I need to have new chassis fitted. banghead
I'm not sure if I would still have to fit the bevel box mounting with the new chassis. I was going to have it fitted as a retro fit on the 2013 but will I still need it now?
Any other mods related to the chassis that might be worth doing while it's in bits?

Unless you fit the kit yourself, Stage 1/2 upgrades are significantly cheaper because everything has to come off anyway. If I remember correctly, the factory waived the normal fitting cost when mine went in for a new chassis last year.

I assume this is as a result of your fun rather than cracks.

You will get the 2014/16 hybrid chassis which has the newer bevel box mount built in. It will also have the side mounting for the regulator.

The stage1/2 upgrades are air filter and exhaust so there's not that much saving in fitting them with the new chassis, but if you've not done them already then you should.

Whilst you have the engine out - If you have the Centa compensator then replace the rollers (approx. £30 for 4) and check the clutch.

Consider beefing up the fuel tank mounts and definitely carry out the Walbro mod to the fuel pump

Take the opportunity to dynamat or similar at least the rear bulkhead and transmission tunnel.

Maybe change things such as the rear gearbox mount, rear wheel bearings.

Good luck!

Just a standard gearbox mount Nippy.

They have been known to start de-laminating so probably worth replacing as a precaution.

It's a Ford Cortina Mk1 item p/n 113E6068 or EM-429. It will require a bit trimming off one corner and maybe the mounting holes opening, you will see from the old one. They can go a bit soft, split or disbond.

When my 2013 had a new chassis following cracks it got the NVH bevel box mount ( just ballast) & I had the centa compensator fitted & clutch checked. I just paid centa parts & MMC picked up labour cost.
