I think the general concensus is perfectly legal, but frowned upon by the MSA.

We need Keith back to nip all this in the bud earlier with his 1st hand knowledge of Traffic Law.

My next question was going to be about fitting racing stripes to the bonnet, however what with door roundels with or without numbers and illegal wing plates it would be a bridge too far as far as the Rozzers are concerned!

Aren’t they what we used to call “Go faster stripes”? So with “Go faster roundels” as well, we’ll soon be
needing a bigger speedo!

Yes following advice on here I'm now not having any numberplates fitted at all because fines are cheaper. The door roundels may attract unwanted attention even if they dont have a number on them but I think i will need the few extra MPH from go faster stripes in case the boys in blue give chase.

laugh2 It's a pity Keith (Burgundymog) is not posting at the moment as he is our resident serving Traffic Policeman and gives us the legal standpoint and the pragmatic view taken by the average policeman, so priceless really. He will be back on here soon I'm sure I contacted him a couple of weeks ago and he is fine.
He would love your Go Faster Stripes, just stay clear of Essex so as not to tempt him laugh2

Be brave !!!!

Racing stripes are proven to give 3 mph on top speed and increase the giggle factor !!!!

They are for going round corners faster.

With the added advantage of camouflage when parking on double yellows........ especially if without numberplates!
