I think the answer might be that the n/a GDI crate engine as purchased by Mr Morgan for the Plus 4 is used in very few standard production applications -- just a Mazda saloon produced in Thailand I underestand. It is also now ending production.

The engine is essentially the same as the turboed GTDI Ecoboost motor, which is used in very many Ford and some Mazda applications. This motor, now in its second incarnation, uses the bigger 65mm throttle body and is the one currently in

I think the consensus of advice to Dada is be very careful when you put this on the road and I would suggest getting it on a dyno before any major road running to have the mixture checked out by using a stand alone wideband lambda sensor.

Event if Morgan was friendly enough to protect the ECU with a password ( ) fortunately all status can be read out
So the first run on open road will be with the laptop in record mode as passager... Less funny than with a beautiful girl as passager but most secure for the moment

First 30 min run with the pc on board yesterday.
The good stuff is the lambda indicate 1 at continuous speed, 0,87 when opening throttle and 1,12 when decelerating which, if I am right, means as are 14,5 in continuous, 12,6 at opening and 16,2 at closing. Looks quite normal values at my opinion.
Am I right here please, can someone confirm please ?
Another good stuff is that it really seems to push more from 3000 RPM up to the "red led" (will try to chronometer the 0-100 kmh to see if it confirms the feeling)
Now the bad side is that it's not possible anymore to easily cruise and accelerate at 1500 RPM in 5 gear like before, to get the same behaviour than before I need now 2000 rpm
Bon.... Now to decide...do I prefer enjoying higher RPM or more low cruising torque ? Do I keep or do I revert back ?
