I haven't put my calipers on the pipes but the silencer looks identical, as does the pipe diameter. The olive which fits in front of the silencer is reused, so that really confirms they are the same.

Thanks once again chaps for the information.

RBW, thank you for the kind offer but I am up north otherwise I would have taken you up.

When it's done I will post my impressions, but I suspect they will be as positive as yours.

Cheers

I got just the ECU flashed by Williams in Bristol - the rest of the car is stock - makes a massive difference and the mpg has gone up from 32 average to 38.8!!! As with others , I’m a really happy bunny!- why, oh why was it not like this from the start?

Cheers!

Well...…...ask Morgan????? hehe.

Like you said, had the P4 been like that from the start, it would have made a huge difference to how it was viewed in the range.

Every GDI P4 should be given that flash. It's incredible value for money and I wish I'd done it a lot sooner.

Hi - I'm very new to Talk Morgan so still finding my way around. I'm taking my standard GDI Plus 4 to the factory for a remap at the end of the month - from what everyone is saying it should make a big difference. I'll report back once its done, can't wait!

About a year ago my dealer informed me the remap was only available in combination with sports exhaust and manifold.
I chose not to have it done, because I don’t want a louder exhaust.
Do I understand correctly that the remap is available now, without altering the exhaust?
Does anyone have information about the result with only this remap?

Best regards,
Thomas

I had my ECU remapped by Williams in Bristol --I just sent them the ECU and they did it and sent it back - Great service(as usual) and it makes a really big difference both to power and also to MPG, which was my primary motive in having it done

Not connected, just a happy customer!

Thomas, my understanding is that you can have just the remap but it will be more effective if it’s done in conjunction with an exhaust change. On my own car a, 110 Plus 4 it came with the rear half sport exhaust but not the manifold. I had the remap and it made an improvement good enough for me not to bother with the manifold (yet!)

Today I picked up my 2015 +4 having had the Aero Racing exhaust system fitted from manifold to twin tailpipes and have done 80 motorway/country lane miles in it.

They also sent off the ECU to the factory to have the CS upgrade at the same time.

Dave has previously given an excellent expert technical review of his car having had the same done, so here is the abridged completely non technical layman's view:

It's faster down the range........a bit
It's faster further up the range......alot
It pops and bangs.........alot (maybe too much)
It is loud and raspy on acceleration ..........alot
It tends to "hum" (is that the drone Dave was talking about?)........alot

On the whole, at this early stage, out of ten I would give it seven (nine if it was quieter).

I'm sure I'll get used to the noise, however, in the unlikely circumstance I decide I can't live with it, which is the noisy/hummy/droney bit that I replace to make it quieter (I asked to keep the old system)?

Manifold?
Cat?
Silencer?
Twin tailpipes?

Or is there another way to reduce the noise without replacing bits?

Thanks.

A volume control wouldn't go amiss, maybe I should have it converted to electric! hide
