Did anyone catch this on Sunday? Not a very appealing car, but the V8 would perhaps have made a good Aero engine, albeit reverting to 4.4l.... “a high-performance 4.4 litre M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine. Delivering 625hp and 750Nm of torque’.

The twin turbos and big coolers won't fit under a Mog bonnet , thats why they had to take off a lot of performance stuff from the 4,8L v8 as there's not enough room under that long louvred bonnet ....

Isn't that why they invented the 'power-bulge' ?? As long as you can still see over them, ignore the ugliness and enjoy the horses!! K

It is no coincidence that the M8 and M5 (both fitted with this 627hp) engine have dropped RWD and both cars are now 4WD. I have been in the current M5 - and boy oh boy is it a fast car (for a 2 tonne 4 door 5 seater saloon!!). If said engine was to be fitted in a Morgan - due to the light weight - 4WD would be a "must?"

The Factory tried the V8 in the plus 6 chassis, it was too big and they couldn’t cool it. The plus six is plenty fast enough, too fast for some ....

I saw the review and I agree with Paddy re WHY? Just seems like a vanity/ look what we can do exercise. As for a Morgan....definitely not a suitable engine. Just too much grunt in a car half the weight. It would quickly be nicknamed “Widowmaker”. BMW playing Top Trumps?
