If anyone wants to try to move their Eurotunnel booking to next year, the Albert Ball 2021 will provisionally be Fri 7th - Sun 9th May.

Same train times: out 09:50, return 18:20

The booking won’t stretch out that far Chris- I guess it depends on when you made it.

I'd phone Eurotunnel and negotiate

I have just tried to get a refund but was told that because the Eurotunnel is still open as normal they do not have to offer a refund but i can amend the booking to another date, i gave them the dates for next May but they then told me they are not taking bookings for that far ahead.
I have amended the tickets for January 2021 , i can then change them for the May dates.
She also said that if the Government closes the tunnel i could then possibly get a refund.

I think you'll be lucky to transfer that far ahead, they told me today, no refunds, and your tickets are only valid for 1 year from when you actually booked (not the original date of travel) so for me mine expire early Feb 2021, before the season really kicks off

A question for people: it would appear possible, when changing the Eurotunnel booking to another date, to upgrade to a Flexiplus ticket. The ticket description says this is “fully refundable”. So, my cunning plan would be to upgrade, pay the extra and then cancel and get the refund. Does anyone know whether this would work (it seems too easy a way around the restriction on getting a refund for a normal ticket)?

I called Eurotunnel after this tip was posted in the Malvern Arms.

Eurotunnel will give a credit voucher if pressed. They will try to get you to move the booking to within 1 year of when the original booking was made, in my instance my Albert Ball booking was made in January, or transfer the booking to someone else to use. After telling them neither was an option they said because of the special circumstances of Coronavirus they can issue a credit voucher for the full amount, the voucher must be used to book within one year of issue but the booking can be for as far ahead as you can book so effectively all of 2021.

I've just phoned Eurotunnel and my credit note is in progress.

They need a reason and I simply explained it was a trip to commemorate a WW1 pilot's anniversary and they were quite happy with that.

I hope i have not gone too soon but i have just transfered this years eurotunnel booking to 7th-9thMay 2021,9.50 out,1820 back .
