This was one of his that I liked
There was a young man from Darjeeling
Who got on a bus bound for Ealing.
A sign on the door said
"Don't spit on the floor"
So he lay back and spat on the ceiling.
In a friend's autograph book he wrote "A bird on the Strand is worth two in Shepherd's Bush"

I love his grave stone with "I told you I was ill" Actually, showing a complete lack of a sense of humour, the church wouldn't allow that. His gravestone is actually inscribed: "Duirt me leat go raibh me breoite", a nice joke for the Gaelic speakers of East Sussex.
