Shame but no real surprises there under the circumstances.

LE MANS CLASSIC POSTPONED IN 2021
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Peter Auto and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest have decided to postpone the tenth edition of Le Mans Classic to July 1-2-3-4, 2021.

After having carefully studied different scenarios and possible dates, it was finally decided that postponing Le Mans Classic to 2021 was the best solution for this event in order to continue to bring together all lovers of the vintage car in optimal conditions.

Patrick Peter, Peter Auto: “Le Mans Classic is an international event that brings together close to 200,000 spectators in one place. As you can imagine, keeping this event at the original dates in the current context was therefore not an option. We have, in line with our partners and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, decided to postpone Le Mans Classic to 2021 where everyone can take full advantage of this magnificent retrospective of the best hours of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”

Yes the inevitable has now been confirmed. PeterG, so sorry we won't hear your monster Morgan rumbling into the car park or indeed, follow it to a restaurant somewhere near La Sarthe! Tonight in Vienna there are four disappointed Mog drivers who had planned and looked forward to this event for almost a year. Almost as bad as the news that we won't be making the journey is the fact that we can't even go to a pub and drown our sorrows together! We have decided to do a virtual pub meet on Saturday afternoon but that won't be the same.

Quentin from Vinmog has emailed everyone and our thoughts will now turn towards next year. In the big scheme of things our disappointment is not so important. Life, family, friends and coming through this with renewed commitment to our loved ones and our sport is what's really important.

Coincidentally I emailed Quinten today and received the bad news, he suggested he was about to email everyone, anyways time to look forward to 2021.

That's both my car touring holidays for 2020 down the spout, but as my son asked yesterday
What phanomanan would you like to come out of the Covid-19 situation ?

My answer and I think to his surprise, I said if I am still breathing that will be good enough for me.

I think that covers it!
Stay safe and look forward to trips at a later date, just as I am looking forward to the resumption of the Hill Climb flag season. At this rate it might be 2020...
