Thats one very nice guitar.

All this guitar chat reminds me of when I used to play back in the late 70's. My little band were pretty good and had a touch of (local) success too. Had a very nice Gibson EB3 with an Orange stack. Haven't played since the mid 80's but I'm thinking about it.

Not having a guitar might be a problem though.......

There's a good article on how even really quite intelligent people can get sucked in by stuff like this here;

Oh sorry just building myself up to the needed level of indignant self belief so I can get into the script writing at true Internet/Panorama levels.

That’s something new I’ve learned, I did wonder why the label was blue, I didn’t even know such a thing existed, everyday’s a school day.

Just trying to ensure I'm not raising my blood pressure unnecessarily. I've had better sausage rolls - Haynes museum anyone? laugh2

Easily sorted mate, the likes of Anderton's and GAK are still shipping.

Hot recommendation at the moment are the Fender Player series. Made in Mexico, these are astonishingly good value and play beautifully. I picked up a Telecaster last year and it's at least as well made as either of my USA Stratocasters.

Hardly surprising though, the two factories are less than 200 miles apart.

Inanely looking back through old photos of days when you inanely wandered around car shows taking bad photos of beautiful machines.

Think we ought to build our own TM Car Show- I bet there are some great photos of great cars to wander around over the coming weeks.

Jeff

I must admit that I did not bother watching it all but I watched enough to realise that it is highly biased reporting and, like all the best propaganda and conspiracy theories, takes some truths, a lot of unsupported assertations, and some outright untruths, all dressed up and delivered in a professional and authorative way to people (us) who do not have the necessary knowledge, access to the original documents, reliable translations, etc. to comprehend what is true and what is false. Unfortunately for their case their are some untruths that are relatively easy to uncover, one such is the release of the genome which has been made freely available together with sample to researchers. Once you understand that part of the report is BS the rest of it is thrown into doubt. If that was not enough the very language at the beginning of the video, emphasising the word "Communist" multiple times, immediately makes you realise that there is an extreme bias.

Such reports need to be treated with extreme scepticism. In reality the Chinese government has been quick to take action and shown that they are absolutely prepared to share information and knowledge. They have even gone so far as to send, biological samples, medical support and donate equipment, respirators etc. to help Italy and then other countries (even America).

There was an unrelated virus that was found to have originated in Australian Fruit Bats some years back. If I recall correctly there were few deaths and it did not develop beyond that despite a big scare at the time. If it had been more virulent we may have had a pandemic that started in Australia. Would you then blame the Australian government?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_bat_lyssavirus

Personally I am more prepared to believe it is an unfortunate transmission from bat's to humans, perhaps because of cultural issues in China, but I am not prepared to believe in some escaped laboratory virus conspiracy theory. Unfortunately this is going to effect the way we have been living for some time to come let us just accept that we are all in the same boat and get on with learning to live with it. And hopefully defeat it!

Thanks for giving your summary Peter, so I do not have to watch it. I agree with your description of the usual strategies of the makers of such „information“.
Much more exciting than such weird laboratory stories with free bogey supplies is the probable fact that viruses could come directly from outer space.
