Totally get the love for Morgans but what other classics have others owned and pros and cons of such cars ? I’ll start with my current classic and add others later. Have always loved the look of Lotus Elan Plus 2 since seeing one locally as a kid. Decided around 3 years ago to start seriously looking and came across way too many cars that needed restoration of fibreglass body which is often not economical vs value of car. Also found too many having the quick paint blow over to try and cash in on the classic car price rise So 6 months ago finally managed to find a fully restored car that had been done 2 years ago, allowing any faults in bodywork restoration to come to fruition. This car was near faultless so duly bought. Pros : - After way too many modern sports cars, including lotus, it was good to get back to basics and enjoy “pure” driving. Love the car and hopefully will be able to keep it for many years.
Love the look of the car vs modern bulk Can have fun without losing license
Cons : - Fuel leaked from petrol cap - now sorted
Have annoying creak from dash area meaning I will to take it sort at some point Wanting to use it in CV lockdown

That Elan is stunning ! Nothing too extravagant for me. I had a couple of MGB for a while. This was the last which I loved to bits, did a lot of work on that. Its in France now. And an XJS which was super cool, loved that car too. Thats it really for me ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/18/mgb-gt-2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/18/IMG_2829.jpg)

Sunbeam Imp Sport Lotus Elan SE Triumph Spitfire Jensen CV8 Jensen Healey Porsche 911S 2 litre Jaguar XJ12 carb. Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 and 1.9 2CV Dolly Best car to drive was the Porsche and everything still worked after 130,000 miles. Worst car for corrosion was the Porsche built just before they started galvanising

Classics were mainly bikes but car wise I had a Triumph Spitfire MKIII and a 1969 Midget. Both fun & I used to commute across London in the Spitfire till a lorry decided to reverse over it I sold the midget to H Thorne to buy my first Morgan. The Midget really was a fun car , like driving a go cart.

Love the colour of the Elan! Here's mine 1960 Frogeye Sprite 1963 Ford Consul Capri 1979 MGB GT 1972 MGB GT 1994 MGB 1964 MGB Ex California Rust Free Restored 1995 MG RV8 3900 Miles From New Best cars, the 1964 MGB and RV8 because they were immaculate and rust free. I had both at the same time and the 1.8 MGB was actually a nicer car to drive than the 3.9 litre RV8. A purer design and classic driving experience and you could drive the MGB to its limit which was surprisingly high. The MGB is the reason I have a 1.6 litre Morgan 4/4. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/18/248411_227466173936679_3488606_n.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/18/SDC1258220Medium.md.jpg)
