Don’t laugh . I had some MGBs but the most fun car I ever had was an MG Metro I bought my wife a new White MG Metro in 1988. I can only remember it had red seatbelts and used oil from new!

Spitfire, tuned Mini, GT6, Stag, Le Clat ( fibreglass bodies special Aquaplane tuned ford engine). Elise, Westfield, F430, F type, F360.
Kept the Stag for more than 30 years - it was more of a rolling garage project, much of which was down to my seire to take thigs to bits and potter with them. For example an auto box rebuild because I wanted to see inside an auto box. Of that lot the best sports car was the Lotus. The Worts, and a heap of dangeros junk, was the Westfield that a friend left me in his will. He was dying when he gave me it and I am damn sure he wanted to make sure that his son didnt get anywhere near it. I sold it on for the same reason.

I've owned cars that are now viewed as classics, but when I bought them were just cars....VW Golf GTI mk I (1600) Peugeot 205 GTi, TVR S2, but back when I was a student I was into minis, the first one being a clubman (not a classic), but then two Morris Cooper 998 MkIIs on which I did loads of work, really cutting my teeth on them when it came to car mechanics. My Haynes manual had oily fingerprints all over it. I'd have loved a Cooper S, but couldn't afford to either buy or insure one. I still have a real soft spot for the mk II Cooper, and would have another one like a shot if I could get it past

Mini 850 Morris Cooper 998 Midget square arch Vitesse Mk2 Conv 1975 +8 Daimler Dart Capri 2lt 2 x Mini Estates 2 x Escorts (Fords 👀) 2 x Astra GTEs 2 x LR 110 CSWs Caterham 7 R400+
What I learnt. The laws of physics always prevail, just cause it says "Cooper" on the back, it won't go always round corners! The Vitesse was faster than it looked. The +8 with it's baffles drilled out, would blow flames out on overrun. I love Landies. Caterham's love to eat supercars, but not on a motorway. I did miss that look along the Mog's bonnet.

I have owned/had in my possession over 50 cars & LCV (a quick count up - including company cars).
One I had that I wish I had now - that was however, a company car - a Ford Sierra RS Cosworth...boy they felt fast in the day!
Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!

2 MG Midgets ('60's era) 1968 MGB GT Triumph Stag (in my Hong Kong batchelor days - not the most ideal place to own one given the traffic and the heat, but a head-turner there as one of only three I knew of in HK at the time - sold after the gear box seized rather dramatically!)
