Well the bcw5099 is probably 8mm wider. So I have ordered two cw15953 from browns and gammon at 30ish quid each. They look like what I have taken off. Now waiting on ebc to reply re their shoes... I suspect I shall be sending those back.
It's not a easy job putting it back together I can tell you. I also need a replacement spiral clip for the pivot at the top of the handbrake lever. Lord knows where I can get one of those. I may be able to use a c clip.
A very frustrating day all told.

I have a reference for TRW brakes saved in my service notes for a “fitting kit” part number TRW SFK111 at £9.39. Don’t know supplier but hopefully you can track down on the net. Think that will include the clip that you are after.

Indeed it does seem to, looking at the pics - many thanks Doug. You don't happen to have a reference for the shoes do you?
Cheers Nick

TRW GS6140 for shoes. Can’t recall where got this info from and have never actually purchased. See the fitting kits on ebay now double what I quoted.

PS Nick, I also have Brown and Gammon on my list and also Brakes International as another alternative supplier.

Right, well hats off to Brown and Gammons. Ordered the cylinders yesterday at 4pm and they arrived today at 9:40am.
So tried again. Fitted like a glove. Took the brakes shoes off, cleaned and copper greased the handbrake mechanism. Cleaned up the cracked feed in tube and dribbled a little oil inside then protected with self amalgamating tape.
Reassembly is a bit of a hassle but now I know how it fits, I have established a bit of a technique. Having messed up the spiral clip that holds the handbrake lever to the shoe, good old Eastern Auto Spares in Ipswich sorted me a suitable E clip that fits well.
So all back together, bled, and handbrake adjusted. I need to give it a run to try - the brakes feel more spongy than before. But then I am at a loss how it passed an MoT and the back brakes functioned at all. Both slave cylinders were rusted at both ends. I cannot move by hand or by G clamp and pliers.
I suspect I need to give the car a short run then re-bleed the brakes. I certainly heard the self adjusters click into place. So it will have to wait until I need to go into school again to laser cut yet more face shield parts for our mammoth endeavour of a face shield production line.

Great news Nick and what fantastic service from Brown and Gammon, well worth noting. Regarding the spongy brakes, it may be worth bleeding the front as well if things don’t improve...always a chance some air may have gone that way whilst bleeding rears if master cylinder got too low before topping up?

Well I did bleed the front as well just in case. But I used a Gunson Easibleed so no chance of the master cylinder being too low. I did bleed twice on each rear as well. What I shall do is bleed in order from shortest to longest just to make sure... I have plenty of fluid.

I have never used a Gunson preferring my wife’s right leg! However, I have always understood it is best done the other way round...longest first.

It's my partners favourite job, bleeding brakes. She manages at least three brake/lever pumps before the "is it done yet" moaning gets too much for me. I tend to reverse fill bikes using a syringe - the run is usually quite short. A couple of weeks ago I found my old Easibleed in a box of bits and fortuitously the cap that was on there is a perfect fit for my Morgan! Gave it a good clean/flush and its working well - means we keep a happy household in these tense times
