Yes i do like Bremonts. Their new military collection is my favourite! Have you also seen Vertex? A descendant of the old owners has revived the brand with a couple of interesting models.

These too would be my British military picks. I also like Fears (again resurrected by a descendant) but it is a bit more on the dressy side.

So for me the perfect watch for the modern Morgan owner would have to:
- be British
- be Waterproof/rugged
- have a vintage design
- have a modern mechanism

It is one of the dirty dozen watches. I also have a Cyma issue as well. These were the first wristwatches specially commissioned for the British Army during the Second World War. I do like Military or Aeronautical watches. My favourites being Heuer Pilot Automatic and a Marvin Flying Dutchman watch which were issued to KLM Pilots in the 1950’s.

I love the dirty dozen watches. My only reservation is usability (waterproofness etc.) that is why I suggest the modern re-issues like Vertex, Bremont and Smiths.

I had never seen that Marvin although I know of the brand! It looks a bit like the Universal Geneve Pole-Router, a watch designed for the S.A.S (airlines) to celebrate them flying over the North Pole I believe.

The Name Bremont

In the late 1990s, Nick & Giles were flying across France in their 1930's biplane. The weather was closing in. A rough-running engine forced them to make an emergency landing. Keen to avoid the French authorities, the brothers were more than happy to accept the gracious help of the farmer whose field they had landed in. They stayed in his home, the aircraft took cover in the barn. It transpired their host had flown aircraft during the war, as well as being a gifted engineer. Half-restored wall clocks lay everywhere, together with numerous engine parts. The farmer still even wore his own father's wristwatch. The brothers promised that his warm hospitality would never be forgotten. His name? Antoine Bremont.

And I am a French guy wearing Bremont (2006, one of their very first) and like many it seems, a speedmaster (1974 one), a railmaster (2003), a Baume et Mercier Clifton Shelby Daytona Coupe and a Reservoir GT tour. I think the lastest one is the most worthy one of cooperation with morgan. If you like things that are different ( and I think most morgan owners are) then reservoir is worth a look.

Hi, Ludo

Thank you for mentioning the Reservoir GT.
I did not konw the brand before.
So much different to standard wrist watches. 👍
I think I will try to find one in reality, not only pictures.

It could be just me but "Longbridge" does not sound a very apt name for a time piece? smile See the Reservoir web site.

Cheers
