MPH , I agree with Image , they drive really well , ours was my wife's daily driver /family car (I had a van ) we had a child seat in the back . We did a lot of miles in it over the years , for a while my wife drove it up and down to Kent from Suffolk several times a week . The V6 is a lovely engine , sounds good too 😀.
I rather like the idea of getting another one ...

All this chat on cars once owned had me looking back at pics, my first car was a rotted out Mk1 Frog eye Sprite, though I ever thought the Elan was the best car in the world... I was much younger back then (-: My first Elan was a 66 version of which I have typed some of my experiences trying to keep it going during my ownership circa 1970, despite numerous failures, it having had a hard life, but boy did it teach me what a real sports car was back then....I had a few Loti over a number of years.

I also read mention of Lotus Europa, had one of them too, it had lain for years under trees and was full of water up to the height of the door sills, once I had brought it back to life it was quite special, in that it was unlike any other car on the road, it felt like a race car, though the gear change took a bit of practice to get used to, the old Elan was a better design for sure, think I owned the Europa circa 1976 pictured alongside my 550 Honda 4 and Rickman Bonnie in my old garage, which I later demolished to make way for a home extension...hmm..Not to worry I built a much larger garage as part of the upgrades..(-: The Europa started off life as lime green, when I bought it, it had been repainted yellow in enamel with a finish that resembled the skin of an orange, had a lot of fun stripping it back to then apply the Gold Leaf colours, which was my favourite, I also did my later 67 Elan in those colours too..

A classic Porsche 911, G-model, no doubt! And there are lots of other desirable cars, but you can only drive one at a time!

They have such a style about them. Especially in that colour.

Rather nice. Complete with Else spoiler?

Of the 4 Lotus available at the that time, the only one I have not owned is some form. Still a bit of an itch there.

Clipper great image of the Merc, it looks carved out of the solid, and in a class of its own but for me a bit more of a GT than a sports car, so will have to let it slide...(-:

Rutt, it seems we agree on the air cooled 911 as being a rather special car, I suspect Heinz may think along similar lines..? (-: On that basis I thought you might like to beam up the vid from the following URL..

I liked this vid a LOT as I very much agree with this chaps thinking as I used my 911 SC on track quite a few times and while there would regularly see others with their bonnets up and tools out, clouds of stem and oil dripping profusely, whereas my old Porsche was fortunately reliable enough to drive to the track and drive home, though I did once bash the rear quarter on track trying to be the last of the late brakers, and paid the price, though I still drove it home..(-:

The vid title works very well for me " One Car to Do it All" given I used my 911`s on track, to commute and on the local roads for fun miles as well as on a number of occasions for weekends away with my good lady staying at fancy hotels, the old Porsche was ever shown a degree of interest in the car park..(-:

OK, OK, this is a Morgan forum and not Porsche, I really like the hydraulic lift table in the vid and would seem to suit Morgan usage..I could find a place for that in my garage. And in terms of hotel car parks the Morgan out performed my Porsche experiences, in that space was ever made for the Morgan while touring and on ocassion when I used my Morgan at Porsche events the old Mog attracted far more attention then mere multi-thousand pound Turbo Porsches and would often draw the public to comment when parked up, in a way the 911 never did. One time on the short ferry trip from Tainloan to Ghia the lady selling the tickets on board the ferry loaded with Porsches, took time to tell me that the old Mog would be her first pic of all the cars on board...(-:

I also like the shape of both 300SL very much.

Scimitars are so underpriced. Stylish, practical and with simple mechanicals, I've never understood why they don't have a higher value.

Had a look at the classic SL after seeing the pic - don’t know that much about them.

Prefer the look of the lozenge headlights to the round ones which I think came later in the 60’s - not too sure.

Although there is a later Pagoda model which costs much less.

I knew the Gull Wings were expensive, but so are the convertibles £700k to £1.7m at a quick look.
