Has anybody got any advice regarding the fixing of a roll bar to a 1987 4 4 4 seater? The roll bar is only a small one and will fit just below the hood. I was intending to bolt thru the rear wing top at the back of the vehicle with an M12 bolt then, this seems straight forward. For the front I was looking to fix to the ash cill with 3 no. 50mm M12 coach screws each side. I was considering the possibility of a bolt thru fixing. however it seems that where they will project underneath the car will foul the underside of the rear cill where it widens out just before the rear wheel arch. I could bolt thru the cill, however I am concerned that the rigidity of the fixing could cause cill distortion when the car flexes.
