Correct. But you need to know if the top one is there replacing an oiler on the old factory pins as the groove is too small to efficiently grease via them.
Totally correct but with a small caveat, the main advantage of greasing the stub is you are getting under your car and it affords the opportunity to take a few spanner’s with you and have a quick spanner check. Really important thing to do. Whilst there a visual check of things like rack gaiters for oil stains, sump and lower engine for fluid leaks, nails in tyres you know the kind of thing.
When out and about or touring the top nipple is a quick, simple and clean way to grease the front end. I shall not repeat what my old foreman said but he explained listening fir the sound, almost a crack and squelch as the grease gets through.... he was a lot cruder than that ;-).
Little and often is the best way to live the kingpins and bushes.
