Similar experience Dave, but firstly my condolences to you and your family.
MiL passed away on St George's day , 10 days short of her 101st birthday. She was in a nursing home, which was in lockdown so my wife had not been able to visit for more than 5 weeks and she passed away peacefully (from old age thank goodness, not the dreaded virus) with only the staff to comfort her.
Similar experience about the funeral too, things are/were so busy in London that the minimum delay was 5 weeks, more if you wanted to choose the venue. We are trying to record and stream it so all her many Norwegian relatives can log in, as we are only allowed 10 mourners. Hopefully we have a memorial service at the Norwegian Seamans' Church once all this is over, but that is a long while to get closure.

Dave,
so sorry..
We lost my Uncle on my Mother's side, the last of that generation. Again, we were not able to say "good by". But I have fond memories of Dennis, joiner, car nut and one hell of a snooker player.
The person that was my Aunt, Margaret left her body about 2 years ago, the body remains in a care home. So there is no one left from my parents generation......
Part of growing up, I guess.
