A question for the experts. I am a bit OCD about the drive belt running off the drive sprocket by 4 / 5 mm. It seems to be the norm but is there any reason why a 4 or 5mm wheel spacer can't be fitted between the sprocket and the hub?
I believe there is a modified hub replacement probably at huge expense so why not just fit a spacer, there seems to be plenty of clearance and cost would be minimal?
Anyone fitted this before?

Did it two years ago, works fine, costs only a few pounds for a piece of alloy as spacer.

Great stuff, simple solution, did you change the bolts for longer or was there enough thread with the existing?

Morning Barry,
No, what I did was countersink the allen screw holes so that the screws sat deeper in their holes. this created the 4.5mm I needed to pack the sprocket out with an ally spacer. the ends of the screws protrude slightly into the inner part of the hub now. Once in a while I make sure they still have copaslip on the bit protruding should I need to take off. ( I have an alloy sprocket converted by SuperMax by the way)

Simple solutions as always the best. Original bolt length OK and still has thread protruding from back of hub

Fitted a 5mm spacer and now have perfect belt alignment as well as improving the belt / tyre clearance.
Simple solutions as always the best. Original bolt length OK and still has thread protruding from back of hub This seems to make a lot of sense. My belt clearance is quite tight so would not mind going down this path when I get a new rear tire. Can you share what you used for a spacer and any details?
