Anyone with a 2012 era 4/4 Sport know what the ‘actual’ fuel tank capacity is? Specifically not what the handbook says as none of the Morgan’s I have owned (97, 2002, 2008x2 and now 2012) have matched what the handbook says.
I have checked the MPG over a tankful as I use the odometer rather than the gauge and just need a yardstick for refuelling.

Hi Colin , I keep a refuelling log and with my 2014 build 4/4 the most it has ever taken is 44 litres and it was showing empty before refuelling .

My 06 car is in theory 55 l, The most I have added is 39.39 l.

Thanks chaps, difficult isn’t it. I don’t want to run it dry and suck any debris into the injection system but it would be useful to know (+/- 5ltrs) what it’s supposed to be. My old +4 would go 400 miles before needing a fill when touring but no idea with this Sigma unit.

Ran mine down to "10 miles to empty" and put in 49 litres once. Judged that to tie in with 55 litre capacity and showing remarkable accuracy of both gauge and miles to go readout. I would definitely be worried when 0 to empty came up.

Hi Colin,
I think my 2010 sport is 55 litres. I generally run it for about 400 miles on the trip meter which I reset at each fill-up. The most I have put in was about 45 litres but the gauge (bearing in mind this is Morgan) was showing about 1/4 full. I tend to trust the odometer rather than the gauge. Oh the joys of having a Morgan.

Colin, I don't want to confuse matters, but I wouldn't drive more than 350 miles on the first few fill-ups to be on the safe side.

All very well if doing a journey of several hundred miles in one go but think it better generally to keep plenty of fuel in the tank. Less chance of condensate forming especially if Morgan is standing idle for a while.
