sump/crossmember guard

This was a lockdown project. Decided to fabricate a lightweight skid which would protect both the sump and centre crossmember from high points.speed bumps etc. Pretty easy job, required some 5mm alloy or dural plate and some mild steel 50x25mm tubing (with plastic end blanking pieces). This bolts accross the front of the chassis (which also stiffens it a bit).

What type of lift have you got? I have got my builders back finishing my new garage and I am looking for a suitable lift I was thinking on a mid rise scissor lift but yours looks like a two poster.
Have you popped your car through the roof?

Hi David,
Yes, two-post lift.
Got it a few years ago when I built the house and garage. It's important to have the correct depth and standard of concrete floor to take the lift and also to design in plenty of headroom. Back in 2014 it was about £1.5K fitted. I can just about stand under the Mog with the lift at its highest. My days of rolling around on the floor to play with cars are long over and the lift has been an absolute godsend. I could not have changed the engine on the Plus 4 from the ghastly GDI to the Ecoboost turbo motor it now has without the lift.
good luck with yours.
