Talk Morgan Forums Morgan Sports Cars Morgan Three Wheeler & Super 3 Moment of brotherhood in the States

I live in a medium-sized town in the American Midwest, an hour outside of Chicago. Many of you in other lands are perhaps aware that we are in the midst of some fairly widespread civil uprising against repetitive documented cases of excessive force of police against African American citizens. Widespread protests, political arguing, opportunistic vandalism/looting...there was a National Guard helicopter hovering over my neighborhood last night.
With that in the background, I was out for a spin in my M3W over the weekend (prior to most local demonstrations) to get an X ray my doctor ordered. As I was stopped at a red light, a Jeep came up alongside with a young African American (I am neither young nor African-American) man about a generation younger than me. He rolled down his window, yelled out “That’s some cool fuckin’ sh*& you’re driving,” and we left with peace signs back and forth. A good moment.

It indeed is a social equalizer because everyone loves it.

The M3W has it's technical downsides but it is a "making everybody happy" car.
In this respect it was the best car I ever had (second best is a red Morgan 4/4 which most people like too)

Good story, maybe if half the world bought a Morgan we could all get on with one another

Joejoe that is a great story and particularly heartening during these very troubled times in your country, we are all hoping and praying for a good outcome for everyone.

That was one of the points that convinced us to buy the 3-Wheeler. It's striking but in the good way. Thumbs up and smiles for 99% of the people. We noticed it when we tested it in Malvern.

People look at you in a quite different way in your 3-Wheeler than driving a supercar. All vibes are positive behind the wheel of a Morgan, while driving a Ferrari or Lambo makes people look at you but without a real smile on their faces…

I do believe the world is a better place because the M3W, and other 3 wheeled cars, exist. Uniformity, as in 4 wheels for everyone, is not always the answer.

I live in a suburb of Seattle. Two days ago there were two peaceful protesters on a prominent street corner in my neighborhood wearing their 2020 graduation gowns. Yesterday on the same corner there were 50+ peaceful protesters of all ages. Both times when I passed in the M3W I honked in support. Yesterday there was a grade school aged boy in the crowd who lost his mind in excitement from seeing the MOG and getting the supporting honks. Best part of my day.

Also yesterday I saw a C-5 Galaxy, the largest military transport aircraft in the United States, bank low over my neighborhood after what looked like a take off flight path from a nearby civilian non-commercial airport. Never seen that before in the 10 years in our home.

Strange times here in the States.

Have they been dropping off more national guard or tanks ?

btw ours is also out of touch with what's going on about most things too..
