I believe they all require the use of the ignition key/lock which defeats the object to me. This includes the latest Plus Four which further requires you operate the key against the normal starter detent spring to arm the starter button Having said this I thought it period appropriate to have a button Start for the 1936 diesel twin on my narrowboat. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/O4JEaPB.jpg) Ignition switch is simple on/off. Ohh, Lister, that's a proper engine and if I'm not mistaken scrumbled paintwork too

That is my understanding. The child in me loves the idea but in reality it is pointless ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/05/GEDC0049.jpg) You are quite right, but it does make the starting of the engine more of an event

Mogs already have glitchy electrics as seen by the many query threads on here
So why add further connections, wiring & a vanity switch ? I agree Jon. In the case of our cars though all the complexity for start button is already there including its connector, like it or not. Ironically if you don't take up and pay for the start button option a jumper has to be added to this connector to enable key start. MMC not wanting to miss a trick I guess
