Your thoughts? - Tonneau for a four seater

We have been attempting to fit the Tonneau with varying success, yesterday it went on using the method described in the video found here:
https://youtu.be/HCS-VoYdMIE
The method is the same for a four seater
As you see ours is not quite on properly, the hood material needs tidying and one or two of the poppers still have to be stretched into place. By the time we had finished both of us were exhausted, it took us a good 20 minutes and so I think this is not something we will be doing very often. I must say that driving with it fitted over half the cockpit is rather special and I imagine it could be very cosy in winter. I would be interested to hear of your thoughts on the use of this item.

Having watched all that, it makes me rather glad (for once) that I've got an old style hood and tonneau!

One of the joys of touring in Morgans is watching the four seater guys fit hoods or tonneaus at the end of the day whilst one is imbibing on a refreshing ale.
I have often found that giving some advice also makes it more fun for all concerned.

Good luck. I am sure the four seater owners on here will put you right

On the other hand, John, I have found that whilst touring we put the luggage on the back seats and then wait ooo while all the two-seaters faff around with luggage racks and straps. But as for the tonneau, I have one inherited from the first owner. Tried, unsuccessfully to fit it once, and I shan't bother again. It takes Mrs St Eve and I about three minutes to get the hood up and fastened, so I'd be close behind you into the bar - but only behind you to give you time to get the first round in hide

Steve,
we have Hills Alive cases so we move fast but only in the vague hope of Mike Plumber Smith getting in the beers. I understood he did that once.

I would happily buy a round right now, that simple act seems like a dream.

I suspect a login may be required to see that. However the photobox advert for photobooks is quite OK!! grin2

Kevin, leave the tonneau cover on for a couple of days so that it stretches. These things have a tendency to shrink when not used. If you're trying to fit in winter, put it in a warm airing cupboard for a good few hours first. smile

Fitting a tonneau cover on a four seater is quite a effort

And particularly the post 2005 models as they are longer, so more hood bulk to stretch over and more distance to stretch

The other difficulty is that, unlike the two seater in the video, you can’t lift up the folded hood much. You can only lift the hood up just past the prongs to stuff under the flap that traps the back of cover. And it’s a real hand scraper if you have white collar office paws, not calloused leather builder’s manibus

If you think it’s tough in the Summer try doing it in the cold of Winter or when it’s pouring down, your hands are wet and there is no stretch on the vinyl!

2 seater owners will never know the toil and the high of the elation after that the 4 seater brotherhood endures fitting the Tonneau Cover of Plenty
