When driving Route 66 I collected the Mustang convertible in Las Vegas. As I drove towards Seligman Arizona (enroute to Chicago) with the top down, sun shining , shades on etc on the radio came Queen's "I'm in love with my car". That seemed just perfect, Seligman is the basis for the cartoon film Cars.
Seligman, AZ

John ..... Have been to Seligman a time or two .... even stayed there for a couple of days once. Hung out in most of those little towns in that part of the South-West at one time or another. One of my favourite road-trip places ....always seem to gravitate back.

Another hiding in plain sight ...... I reckon Chevy would come second the Cadillac in the automotive word-count charts.

Quite why Don McLean's song is fronted by a picture of a young Bob Dylan I don't know ....it is the internet I suppose!

Bob Dylan was the Jester who sang for the King and Queen.

Back when the 'arty' end of rock was musically adventurous in a way music isn't today ....far less formulaic. With room for real individuality

Here's one featuring the more refined end of motoring ....in a distinctly unrefined setting.

But I wonder why they chose him over all the other artists the sanctimonious Mr McLean slagged off in the course of that song! smile
