Did you securely fit a hose clamp to the replacement corrugated hose in the pump module?

If not, or if it was loose, the hose might have come off which will provide the symptoms you describe (don't ask me how I know this blush)

R1nga and Chris,
Thanks folks. I had placed a clamp on the replacement hose, but the upper end of the hose had come loose from the top of the pump assembly. Obviously I was a bit too cautious about too much strain on the pipe. Interestingly, the hose could barely fit over the pipe when I assembled it; hot water to soften and still was a chore to fit it. nevertheless, now it slides on and off with ease. So I double clamped it and will hope for the best. I did notice that the longer corrugated hose that we don’t replace has no clamps, but I believe this is a passive hose without pumped fuel going through it.
The hose from Summit that is commonly referenced is almost twice as long as necessary, and I wonder if the big curve on it is causing some downward pull on the top of the hose. We shall see...

Question;
Having just done the upgrade to Walbro, per my recent post, I had an issue with the corrugated plastic hose slipping off of the upper pump module (despite using a clamp). When I went to reattach it, I found that the hose, which initially was a very snug fit (needed to heat it for a while to slide it onto the module), was now fairly loose; slipped on quite easily. I placed two snug single ear clamps and re-installed the unit.

Now I am reconsidering; what do you all think of replacing the corrugated hose with some 30R10 hose? I can cut it to length and place some secure clamps...
Any advice appreciated!

Remember that the housing where the pump is mounted is spring loaded w.r.t. the top flange, therefore any hose used needs to be very flexible which I guess is why they use a convoluted hose.

As Bunny says I would stay with the convoluted hose to ensure the flexibility required, it would seem you overheated the hose and it has stretched the aperture. You may well need to get a replacement hose.

I appreciate the advice. I will say even after I heated it, it was very difficult to fit the hose to the upper male part of the module; very tight fit. So I am surprised that it loosened so much. makes me nervous about the same tubing staying on even with clamps, and I have not found different suitable plastic tubing. Thus, I was thinking that some traditional fuel line hose would mate more securely.

Walbro has lots of hoses but good luck figuring out what is what.
