Hello All,

Introducing myself as new member to the Morgan fold, well soon to be. I am in the process of purchasing a 2014 Roadster from BHM (R3 MOG).

I've been lucky enough to have a run of nice vehicles but I came to the conclusion that I was wasting a lot of money on leasing cars that I'd change every few years and I decided I wanted to invest in something for a longer term, and not be chasing the latest models and features.

Whilst I've admired the Morgan from afar, I cannot say I had a burning desire to own one. Watching too many Wheeler Dealers and Car SOS had me looking at classic cars but I decided I was not brave enough to be reliant on a 40+ year old motor. Having watched far too many videos on YouTube and scouring this forum, I decided the 3.7 Roadster was the one for me, although reports on the negative characteristics very nearly put me off.

I enjoyed my first Morgan drive last weekend when test driving the car, I was pleasantly surprised by the ride and it cruised easily at 2,000 revs although to be honest, being 13 years since I last drove a manual, the whole experience an interesting sensation.

I can see that I will have a lot to learn about Morgan ownership (not helped by the opposing views), and whilst there is a small part of me is thinking I could come to regret this decision, life's too short to not try these things when you are given the chance - I am very much looking forward to the journey.

Thank you for the information (and entertainment) you have provided so far, I expect I'll be reliant on this in the future.

Cheers

Steve

Welcome Stevie and congratulations on joining the world of Morganing, you won't believe the love these machines generate from all that see them and be prepared for long conversations on the forecourt.

A great dealer you are buying from.

Enjoy your new adventures.

Steve

Morgans are different , in a modern car (esp an auto with all the modern driver aids) 100 mph feels like about 50. In a Morgan 50 mph feels like about 100.

You have to really drive it yourself using all your senses.

Does your Roadster have the new 5 link rear suspension ? If not be rather wary about the rear end, 300+ BHP on leaf springs is nearing the boundaries of control.

Drive with in the car's and your limits , and it will give you endless enjoyment , and bring a great smile to your face every time you go out in it. It also is liked and enjoyed by others , you will be let out at junctions , given priority at roundabouts etc , it is that sort of a car.

Hope the pick up goes well, listen to Keith at BHM , he is probably one the greatest authorities on Morgans in the world , and could really be described as a National Treasure .

Steve,
welcome I am sure you will love it. I would recommend joining MSCC & the OxMog branch as that will add a social aspect.
