I placed a single-ear clamp on both ends. I was probably a little shy with it, not wanting to fracture the hose. When I reassembled it, since it was stretched and loose, I placed 2 clamps, more securely. But since the hose has stretched, thinking I should replace it, and thus the decision of the convoluted vs nitrile hose.

The single crimp Otiker Clap was not enough? Or did you use some Chinese clamps?

Job completed with one last idiot question: didn’t realize that when I covered the tank opening, the wiring harness fell and was suspended in fuel for 20 minutes. Used an air line to dry it out. Any concerns?

I don’t see a problem.

One clamp top and bottom of each hose?

I already had one on the bottom. I placed two up top.
Once you realize how the cover is constructed and removed, it’s a 5 minute job to get the pump module out.

Could someone please explain why the fuel pump is so over rated in its output?
The Walbro GS342 is 225lts hr at 5bar when S&S say the engine needs 45lts hr. There’s a lot of fuel being circulated round the system!
I know it probably will be hard to fit but would something like this have more of a suitable output, approximately 100lts hr less.

The Walbro GS342 was chosen originally because it was the go-to replacement used by the LandRover fraternity. It may be overrated but is the same form factor as the original and has proven to be reliable in service. However, the Ducati pump looks interesting. If you try fitting one be sure to let us know how it goes. cheers

Ha ha, will do if I do👍.
What I should of said is, as I can see the logic in the GS342, is why did Morgan fit such a high output pump on the first place.

Not a clue why Morgan decided to use such an over rate pump, maybe it was cheap and there was a job lot available at the time of the design? The Land Rover Discovery V8EFi mainly sold to the land of the cheaper fuel (USA) and they soon discovered that the original spec pump (Delphi?) didn't last long and that the Walbro GS 342 was a good, local and (almost) direct replacement. I thought I would just use their experience and copy them, hence the choice. On the plus side of things the fuel must get filtered lots of times before getting used.
