That's a stunning interior, really stunning. My dealer did advise against getting the distressed leather, however.
Maybe it's a matter of how often the leather gets wet, how wet it gets, how it's dried, and how it's been conditioned?
More pics, more pics!

Thanks Steven, the photo was actually taken by Stuart Appleby. The interior is done in a Yarwood distressed aniline leather and I was advised that aniline leathers have some of the identifying characteristics of nubuck which are: it is very soft to the touch, it will scratch very easily, and water drops will darken the leather temporarily (it will return to its original colour upon drying). So far this advice has been proved correct as when thoroughly soaked the leather goes almost black, and then dries out to its normal colour. Like you and your Dealer, as I intend to use the 3W in the UK, I'll probably play safe and order a normal automotive quality pigmented leather.

I would genuinely be surprised if not all Morgan leather selections were treated and colored with aniline dyes. I wouldn't want anything less. Aniline dyes are used to soak the leather and the dye permeates the full hyde. It imparts a rich, natural looking and long lasting finish. I can't imagine why an aniline-dyed hyde might be more susceptible to water spotting. I have an aniline leather sofa that is easy to scratch, but those scratches are only temporary and seem to be self-healing. It's a beautiful rustic piece, and probably aspires to be repurposed into a 3 Wheeler interior someday.

I Know I have said this to you before Brian, but I really like the look of this leather, its doing things to me that leather shouldn't do to a man.. According to a Morgan dealer the distressed leather is not that good in damp conditions and therefore not recommended for the M3W. Rumour or fact? Morgan France got troubles with distressed leather when it got wet with rain on a seat side, it showed non removable marks and since then they refuses to sell it again. Like Steven, I had distressed leather (black) from Muirhead in my AeroMax. It did get wet (it's a Morgan!), but did not show a watermark. My current Aero SS has distressed tan leather from the other Morgan supplier and it has got soaking wet on several occasions, again it has not left a watermark in fact it's ageing imho even better than the Muirhead leather! I have not heard any adverse comment, similar to the French Morgan agent, about distressed leather; nor from the factory. I believe the leather to be used on the 3W is from Muirhead and as such, personally I don't foresee a particular problem.

I expressed my worries about leather in combination with rain when I met my dealar today. He picked up a mug with water and poured it over the seat of a brand new Morgan....after a while he took a towel and removed it - no stain what so ever. The impregnation was very effective and if treated regularly I am now convinced that rain is no issue, as long as there is a hole in the floor pan
