I had similar problems as my 4/4 lives on the drive. I now leave it with brakes off and not in gear when on the drive and give it a push forward & back for a couple of feet every day or so - especially if I have washed the wheels or after heavy rain which may have bounced under the cover.

Stub axle doesn’t come off just the hub and disc assembly.
Remove split pin, if you’ve never done this before it’s a bit of a pig to straighten and then will exit through holes drilled opposite each other in the splined area you’ll have to clean it probably to spot them. Just turn the disc and the hub until the hole aligns with the head of the split pin and try and wheedle out.
There is a way round this it’s a bit brutal but it works fine if you’re careful! and that’s to use the socket on the end of the castellated nut without removing the split pin and rock it backwards and forwards until the pin shears then wind off the nut.
When you have done this clear out the split pin hole of the remains of the split pin make sure you get all the tiny bit of pin fragments out of the bearing grease in fact best to strip and clean and re-packed the wheel bearings then finally fit the castellated nut the wrong way round and slowly wind it on and off a few times and you use the castellations to clean the thread of the stub axle.
As I say this is a ‘quick and dirty’ way of doing it which is why you should try and remove the pin first as it’s not good practice but sometimes essential if some clown has hammered in an oversize split pin which I’ve seen on a few occasions!
With the nut off you can then pull the disk and hub straight off towards you. Remember to reset the bearing end float on reassembly but I trust you know about taper roller bearings?

Try driving on quiet road, and occasionally ride the brake with your left foot. Don't force it to much to stall the engine or damage the clutch. This should clean everything up quickly.

I have never had brake problems, but a sticking clutch after a couple of months storage over winter a few years back.
