The BTR axle on my modified Plus 8 has a brake disc set up, rather than drum. It uses a large 300mm vented disc that is 24 thick and 4 pot willwood calipers. It has no handbrake at the moment and I wish to add one. (This is an ex Class A race car).
Has anyone done this, did you use a separate spot caliper for handbrake and do you have any images or dimensions of the brackets used? Any help appreciated!
I'm in touch with Mulfab before you ask but as Peter has now retired, they cannot be specific as to what route to take at the moment. Neil has been very helpful though and I will probably end up taking the existing disc, bell, main caliper and bracket up there.
Thanks Mike

I have sierra cosworth callipers on mine with a cable handbrake, all works well. 4 pot callipers on the rear may cause over braking

Contact Simon H on here, he may well have been involved in the original build as he once worked with Peter at Mulfab.

It will be much easier to change over to the “normal” rear disc conversion I can supply all the parts

Thanks all, and thanks Simon I think you may be right, probably easier to go to a solid disc and Standard conversion.
Don't forget Simon that I have peg drive wheels and fully floating hubs. Hopefully that won't be a problem?
I'll give you a call on Monday. Cheers Mike
