Hi folks,

Is there any adjustment available for the throttle cable? Mine is a tiny bit loose and I do not see any adjusters?

Pretty sure there is, but it's at the pedal end rather than the easy access end up by the throttle body! Difficult for me to check right now as I'm about 500 miles away from my garage.

Hope this helps.

In the parts book 5.2 it shows for '12 and up this setup.

And yes, the adjustment is on the pedals.

I could see that with just a little craftsmanship and ingenuity, you could swap out the adjuster from the pedals to the throttle body and then have a much easier adjustment to keep things in check.

Good luck!

Yes, it's a right PITA to adjust, especially with the small opening provided under the bonnet for pedal access.

You do want just a bit of slack to ensure full closure of the throttle plate and to allow for any relative movement of the engine. As long as it's not wanting to come off the bell crank then I would be inclined to leave it alone. If you do try to adjust it, you will understand why I say that.

Dan is right, an adjuster at the throttle body end, or even somewhere in the middle would be easy enough to do. However when I shortened my throttle cable from the 'big loop' configuration to one using a cable guide like the newer machines, I found I couldn't remove the cable without lifting the body as it was effectively clamped between body and chassis at the front, so just did the job in situ. I have all the bits to make a new cable (flanders.com is a good source in the U.S., as would be pretty much any motorcycle shop) but will wait for winter to do it right.

Has anybody replaced the throttle cable? My casing is broken next to the 90 degree elbow, probably will have to replace the whole thing?
