Every time I park up in the garage I press the isolator button (under the bonnet) as otherwise in a few days the battery is drained. However, as the car is always pretty hot does this also switch off the supply to the electric radiator fan and so the engine may get massive heat sink and cause possible failure of "O" rings etc? Nothing happened as yet but is the issue lurking in the background!
Thanks
T

I have a traditional Plus 8 and cut the switch but I leave doing that for around half an hour when the cooling if needed has taken place just to be on the safe side.

Taffy. My fan has never come on after the car is switched off but having said that I also switch off at the kill switch when in the garage and leave the bonnet open. As mentioned on many previous posts on here because the engine is totally enclosed with the alloy panel underneath you cant put a packet of pins around the engine bay and no bonnet louvres there is a huge amount of heat build up. Regarding the o rings I don't think it makes a lot of difference if you get 5 years your lucky, I change mine every other oil service so 4 years you do need small hands.....

Many thanks for the responses - I think I will use Em's philosophy and leave the bonnet open!
thanks
