Even here I got the mailout, which did look like a nice way to get to know the Plus Four, but overseas travel has got a lot more expensive now with $3100.00 being added by the government to cover the cost of each persons isolation when you return from overseas (two weeks).

They were doing something similar years ago in conjunction with the Cotwolds Tourist Authority. I looked at the MMC offer in 2007 but found it more economic to rent a +4 from Richard Thorne and use the tourist office for the tours and accommodation. Perhaps not quite as comprehensive as this latest package but nowhere near that price.

In fact it was this that convinced us to get our own Morgan (or more specifically convinced Mrs W as I'd decided years earlier drive )

Regarding the MMC 'Tour 2' schedule, I would have thought that a central Manchester start and finish would be a bit daunting for anyone who hasn't driven in Manchester before, particularly in a Morgan. Doesn't seem to go with the delights of the Dales and Lakes to me. Nothing against Manchester of course, but navigating it in a car for the first time would be a worry and would take up valuable, open road, driving time.

Well at least they are taking the isolation seriously which is a good thing. Our lot are a joke. Three colleagues have been out of country so far and one returning filled in a form and that was it. Told to go home and self isolate. No calls, no checks, no "you are safe to go out again" communications. I don't mean to blame this on the government as responding to this problem would test almost anyone.

I did talk to a friend from South Korea and he said the identity card (includes passport, driving licence, NI and everything) allowed them to be far more active in communicating with the people. I appreciate the UK attitude is generically against big brother and registration but this would have been a LOT easier to manage if we had. I also think the current dept by dept solutions mean there is actually more risk as they have to protect multiple sources and are spreading the focus. I still live a perfect world in my mind, we all have our own Unicorns and everyone has a Morgan.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
