Limited official list. Just wondered what people felt were worthwhile options on the car. Roll bar? Battery master switch? Harnesses? Hi-Fi??

Nick.

Nick, I believe the stereo is standard (it is a unit which runs off an MP3/iPod).

The Race Pack includes: Corbeau racing seat, roll bar, 4-point harnesses, battery switch, plumbed in fire extinguisher, racing roundels and a few other parts which make the car suitable for racing, should the owner wish. The +4SS Race Pack does suit the character of the car.

As for what is worthwhile, it really is personal choice (like all Morgans) and depends on what you want on the car and are willing to pay for. thumbs

Dear Nick,

as far as i´m informed one can order a set of driving lights, the full race package, a graphic kit, stereo/Mp3 system & a hardtop (has ANYBODY already seen/photographed thet new styled hardtop???).

So no further news from here..

It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. laugh2

I believe the final tweeks are being done to the hardtop; as yet, there are no photos of it. The plan is for it to fit over the roll bar.

Thanks all. Interesting the stereo is standard. Was curious as to what people had actually specc'ed for their cars. Inquiring from a point of relative naievity you understand.

Regards, Nick.

Is it just me ... but when I read about the stereo/MP3 system supplied I started looking for the antenna .... but could not identify one in the pictures confused2
... obviously Morgan does not supply a standard, old-fashioned rod antenna...
... any idea where/how the antenna is mounted? thinking

I believe (standard disclaimer that I may be incorrect) that the Plus 4 SS stereo has been kept VERY simple. It is my understanding that the car has speakers and a head unit which allows you to connect an MP3/iPod to it. You control the music via the MP3/iPod and the unit simply amplifies the sound, so that you get enough grunt through the speakers to hear the music. It is very simplistic but effective; it also means the weight is kept to a minimum. It is my understanding that you can also delete the unit if you so choose.

As I said, this is my understanding, based on a chat with the chaps at Aero Racing quite a few months back.

I've seen new hardtop and got a couple of pics but don't feel its fair to post them as it was work in progress rather than finished article

I've been using a MP3 Player FM Transmitter with reasonable results played through an old Blaupunkt stereo radio/cassette, and it was a bit better without the antenna plugged in.....I'm no expert, but I believe with FM over very short distances the antenna can be absolutely minimal - in fact one chap I spoke to said a 'regular' antenna makes it worse because it will pick up competing weaker frequencies.

The MMC unit isn't an FM modulator (which as a side note are technically illegal because you are broadcasting music without a licence wink ). My understanding is that it is a simple head unit that you plug the music source into.
