I hear some strip down brand new cars, polish the fasteners then cover everything in Neoprene.... strange folk up T’north 😂

Mind you they are ace at making extra rear brake lights!

Each one is different and long may it be the case. I have a feeling that in some parallel universe someone has found a bit of broken Tat under my bench and a DG is pontificating over its purpose.

In the unfortunate event of an accident, the last thing I would want is a hunk of easily detachable metal near my legs!

If this piece of metal dislodged (remember it’s under the heater and sprung in position) in a way that it could touch any part of either occupant I doubt we would be in a condition to bother. It’s a very close fit under the heater/radio boxes.

Or you could just apply PPF on the leather

It’s got to be much easier, I’ve done it here

I am!!
Someone has gone to a lot of trouble. Not only protects the tunnel leather, but allows foot a smoother passage when operating the clutch. Maybe whomever fitted it had the same problem as I with my 4/4 - wide feet not fitting well in a narrow footwell. grin2
